A solemn flower-laying ceremony took place at the memorial complex in honor of the Soviet liberator soldiers, partisans, and underground fighters of the Vitebsk region.

Representatives of official delegations – members of the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly of Belarus and senators of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of Russia, city leadership, and the public laid flowers at the eternal flame of the memorial complex.

Participants of the rally were reminded that in fierce battles, the Soviet people defended the freedom and independence of their country, and liberated all of Europe from fascist slavery. This great victory once again proved that together it is possible to respond to any challenges and threats. Now, in Belarus and Russia, the memory of the great achievements of the generation of victors is carefully preserved and passed on to descendants.
