A solemn event dedicated to Labor Day was held at the Vitebsk Regional Philharmonic Hall

– Labor has always been noble, bringing glory to those who worked for creation. And today, such people have gathered here, representatives of various sectors: from trade and banking to construction and communications. Being the best is always a reason for pride for your families and the teams you represent, – noted the Chairman of the Regional Executive Committee Alexander Subbotin. – I congratulate everyone on the spring holiday of labor, somewhat forgotten, but gaining momentum again. I wish you peaceful skies, and may everything work out for you.

Alexander Subbotin and the Chairman of the Regional Trade Union Association Yuri Derkach presented awards to 17 laureates of the regional professional skills competition "Master of the Year of Vitebsk Region – 2023".

– The words of the slogan "Peace. Labor. May" are more relevant than ever, noted Yuri Derkach. – The fact that today we live under peaceful skies in a sovereign independent country is the merit of the veterans of the Great Patriotic War, home front workers, and those who gave their lives for it. There are about 130 veterans living in our region, living witnesses of the genocide of the Belarusian people and the crimes of the fascists. We have a unique opportunity to say thank you to the participants of this terrible war for their feat.

We honor those who restored the destroyed national economy in the post-war period, and in modern sovereign independent Belarus, created the economy of our state.

According to Yuri Derkach, the need to work is not formed in one day, just like patriotism. This is the painstaking work of many generations. The pride of the Orsha Flax Mill is the Orlovsky dynasty, which celebrated 500 years of total work experience on July 19, 2023. The Nesterovich dynasty has dedicated 130 years to the development of the transport industry of our region. The total experience of the Valentov dynasty in the agro-industrial complex is 110 years. Their labor achievements are inscribed in the history of the Vitebsk region and the country.

BY THE WAY, in 2023 alone, 223 primary trade union organizations were created.

– Each of us, in conditions of peace at our workplace, must make the maximum contribution to the well-being of the Vitebsk region and the Republic of Belarus, – said Yuri Derkach. – Responsibility for labor is responsibility for family, children, loved ones and relatives, for our future and present.

After the solemn part, a festive concert took place, prepared by amateur art groups and professional artists.
