The solemn taking of the military oath by new recruits of the Border Guard Service of Belarus will take place on June 9

June 8, Minsk /Corr. BELTA/. The solemn oath-taking ceremony for recruits called up for active service in the border guard service of Belarus will take place in Polotsk, Smorgon, Pinsk, and Dzerzhinsk on June 9. This was reported to BELTA by the press center of the State Border Committee. About 720 young men were selected as a result of the spring conscription, which was carried out this year according to new rules. If previously all conscription activities were carried out in April-July, then since 2011 they have been moved to February-May. The number of young men called up for border service has slightly decreased compared to last year. This is due to the phased transition to staffing the border guard service on a contractual basis by 2017. Traditionally, heads of the State Border Committee, local authorities, as well as relatives and friends of the recruits will take part in the solemn events. -0-
