The ceremonial launch of natural gas took place in the agro-town of Barsuki, Dokshitsy district.
Speaking to journalists after the ceremony, Vladimir Andreichenko noted that although this event is not very noticeable for the country as a whole, it is very important for the people living in this particular settlement. "Our state pays great attention to gasification issues and the creation of comfortable living conditions in agro-towns and rural settlements. In 2008, Vitebsk region completed the gasification of all district centers and cities with the launch of gas in Rossony. It is good that the program continues to operate," said Vladimir Andreichenko. "We don't always talk about it, but gasification is a very costly undertaking, yet significant and important because it solves many everyday problems and improves people's lives."
Gasification makes rural settlements comfortable and attractive for living. This was noted by the Chairman of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee Nikolai Sherstnev, speaking to journalists after the ceremonial launch of natural gas in the agro-town of Barsuki, Dokshitsky district.
"We would like gas to be available in every agro-town. Gas means comfort, warmth, cleanliness, coziness, and order in the home. This is what every housewife needs and strives for. Therefore, the authorities must focus their efforts on bringing gas to the residents of agro-towns as quickly as possible. By doing so, we will create comfortable living conditions and reduce the outflow of the population from rural areas. This is what everything is done for: so that people stay in the countryside, so that young people return here, so that children are born here," said Nikolai Sherstnev.
He also cited some figures: in Dokshitsky district, more than 10 settlements have been gasified, and out of 11 agro-towns, gas
brought to 7. Thus, there is still a lot of work ahead. "To gasify the agro-town of Barsuki alone, where natural gas has been supplied today, a considerable amount of work has been done, republican, regional, and district structures were involved. All this was done to fulfill the long-standing dream of local residents. In the near future, gas will also be supplied to the agro-town of Porplishche, which is located nearby," the governor shared his plans. After the solemn ceremony, the festive events continued in the House of Culture, where certificates and letters of appreciation were awarded to specialists who participated in the construction of the gas pipeline, and a concert was held.
Yesterday, Vladimir Andreichenko, Vladimir Potupchik, and Nikolai Sherstnev also visited a peat extraction enterprise in the settlement of Krulefshchizna, Dokshitsky district (PU "Vitebskobltorf" - a branch of the enterprise "Vitebskoblgaz").
