The tradition of selling charity lots at auctions has been revived in Vitebsk
October 6, Vitebsk / Sergey Kotovets - BELTA/. The Vitebsk Regional Property Fund has revived the tradition of selling charity lots at auctions. Today, at the regular auction, participants responded enthusiastically to the auction organizers' initiative, and the winner purchased an artistically decorated bottle of wine for Br200,000, the head of the fund's auctions and tenders department, Larisa Shcheglova, told a BELTA correspondent.
According to her, the tradition of holding charity auctions originated in the modern history of Vitebsk in the late 1990s. Funds from the sale of such lots were directed specifically to support social institutions. However, for the past 8 years, charity lots have not been exhibited for various reasons, while the need to help those in need has not disappeared among business people. Therefore, the fund decided to resume charity auctions, and all funds from the sale of the first charity lot (after the break) will go to help the regional organization of the Belarusian Association of Former Minor Prisoners of Fascism.
In total, 4 lots were sold at the auction, which was held with the starting price of the objects set at one base value (with the simultaneous sale of land lease rights) for a total amount of over Br36.7 million. The most intense competition unfolded for the unused building of the service center "Dubnyaki" located in the Sennensky district. The facility with a total area of 314 sq.m has an access road, electricity and water supply, an artesian well with a water tower, and the land plot (almost 0.2 ha) under the real estate objects was offered for lease for 45 years. With a starting price of Br264.9 thousand, the lot was sold for Br27.8 million at the 44th step of the auctioneer. The new owner of the real estate intends to organize production activities in the hinterland and study the possibility of using the artesian well for bottling water.
Since the beginning of the year, Vitebsk Regional Property Fund has sold 98 real estate objects for a total amount of over Br1.4 billion, including 74 buildings and structures sold at auction with the starting sale price set at one base value. Currently, the fund has announced 17 auctions for the sale of over 150 real estate objects for a total amount of over Br10 billion.
