A tractor driver in the Vitebsk region can earn Br1 million in 10 days of sowing.

January 26, Vitebsk / Diana Kurilo - BELTA /. A tractor driver in the Vitebsk region can earn Br1 million for 10 days of work during the spring sowing campaign. This was announced today at a meeting of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee by Eduard Demyanov, Chairman of the Committee for Agriculture, as reported by a BELTA correspondent. About 7,000 tractor drivers are employed in the region's agricultural enterprises, while 1,500 vacancies remain open. At the same time, there is a significant outflow of personnel to forestry enterprises and housing and communal services. According to the regional agricultural production department, 631 tractor drivers moved to these organizations in 2009, and 682 in 2010. For the spring field work, farms intend to involve more than 500 people employed in other agricultural jobs, as well as graduates of vocational schools who are trained as tractor drivers-machinists, and patrons. According to Alexander Kosinets, Chairman of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee, the personnel shortage in the industry and the turnover of workers can be stopped by ensuring a decent level of wages. "Farm managers are responsible for staff turnover," the governor is convinced. He also instructed the education department to revise the enrollment plan for agricultural vocational schools and lyceums to increase admissions. There are 19 vocational education institutions in the region that train specialists for agriculture. This spring, nearly 800 graduates who have already received tractor driver-machinist certificates, and more than 100 production training masters will work in the fields. -0-
