Transit through Belarus without certificates and self-isolation: we explain what is needed for this

From 00:00 on October 22, foreign citizens or stateless persons transiting through Belarus will not need a COVID-19 absence certificate at the border. They will also not be subject to the 10-day self-isolation requirements. Belarusian citizens do not need a certificate when entering the country, said Denis Glebko, an official representative of the Polotsk Border Guard Detachment.

For this to be possible, the traveler must document a 24-hour transit through the territory of Belarus.

Such documents may include:

- Travel document (ticket),

- Transit visa of the Republic of Belarus,

- Official invitation from an authority (organization) of the destination country,

- Vouchers for medical (health improvement) institutions,

- Other documents.

Foreigners or stateless persons who do not have documents confirming 24-hour transit will also retain the option to enter Belarus without a certificate and self-isolation. However, border guards will issue a "arriving person's questionnaire" to such persons, in which the country's guest must leave a note: "transit through the territory of the Republic of Belarus within a period not exceeding 24 hours."

It is important to know that the person is obliged to keep this questionnaire and hand it over to the border guard when leaving the country.

Please note! Persons who DO NOT MANAGE to complete transit for departure from the country within 24 HOURS will be required to present a document at the border confirming a negative result of a laboratory test for COVID-19 infection, performed by polymerase chain reaction (you can contact territorial healthcare organizations to obtain it).
