Third place is awarded to the team of the Museum of History of the Vitebsk branch of the Belarusian Railway
The Belarusian Railway has summed up the results of the competition for the best railway transport museum for the past year. The press center of the state association shared the details with an sb.by correspondent.
- When summing up the results, the jury evaluated the number of museum fund storage units, identified and processed materials on the history of railway transport in the archives of the Republic of Belarus, the work carried out to replenish the funds with new exhibits, museum attendance, excursion services, exhibitions on the history of the Belarusian Railway, including those timed to the Year of Peace and Creation, the participation of museums in cultural and mass events, as well as the coverage of museum activities in regional and republican media, - the press center explained.
According to the results of the competition, the first place was awarded to the team of the railway museum in Baranovichi. The second place went to the team of the history museum of the Mogilev branch of the railway. The third place was awarded to the team of the history museum of the Vitebsk branch of the Belarusian Railway.
The press center noted that the competition on the Belarusian Railway is held annually to improve the educational work of railway transport museums, preserve the memory of the labor and military achievements of all generations of railway workers, enhance the prestige of railway professions, and popularize the achievements of advanced experience, progressive technologies, and new forms of work.
As reported by the state association, the winners of the competition will be awarded diplomas and cash prizes. They also emphasized that the Belarusian Railway pays great attention to preserving its rich historical and cultural heritage.
By the way, currently, there are 8 museums, 19 rooms of military and labor glory, and two history halls operating on the Belarusian Railway, which were visited by almost 82,000 people in 2023. The museum fund consists of about 37,000 storage units.
