A three-year-old child died in a fire in the Dokshytsy district

A three-year-old child died in a fire in the Dokshitsky district, Marina Fando, press secretary of the Vitebsk regional department of the Ministry of Emergency Situations, told a BELTA correspondent. The presumed cause of this tragic incident was a child's prank with fire and the adults' negligence towards the child. The relatives were preparing dinner in the kitchen, leaving the boy to play alone in the room. They discovered the fire only when the flames engulfed the entire room. The child was urgently taken to the central district hospital in a private car, even before the arrival of medics and rescuers. However, it was not possible to save him: the child sustained life-threatening burns to his face, neck, and hands. Rescuers who arrived at the scene of the incident extinguished the fire in a matter of minutes. The fire damaged the walls in the living room and destroyed property. But for the child's mother, who was at work at a local agricultural enterprise during the tragedy, this is nothing compared to the loss of her son. -0-
