Three people died, and three others were injured in the roof collapse of a former farm in the Verkhnedvinsk district

Three people died and three others were injured when the roof of a former farm collapsed in the Verkhnedvinsk district, the propaganda and training center at the Vitebsk regional department of the Ministry of Emergency Situations told a BELTA correspondent. The tragedy occurred on the afternoon of January 17 in the village of Dubrovy at the livestock farm of the agricultural enterprise "Kohanovichi", which was not in use and was subject to demolition. Employees of the district department of the Ministry of Emergency Situations who arrived at the scene pulled three men, born in 1961, 1958, and 1960, from under the rubble, who were taken to the central district hospital with various fractures and in a state of traumatic shock. All victims are employees of the construction crew of the "Kohanovichi" enterprise, who were working on the demolition of the agricultural building. A little later, the bodies of three deceased, born in 1973, 1964, and 1958, also employees of the construction crew, were found at the site of the collapse. According to preliminary data, the cause of the collapse of the structures is a violation of safety regulations during the demolition of the farm. The building with an area of almost 1.3 thousand sq.m. was built in 1970, and in 2007 it was removed from the enterprise's balance sheet. The roof collapsed over the entire area of the building. An investigation is currently underway. -0-
