July 28, Vitebsk / Sergey Kochetov - BELTA/. Two women and a man were rescued from a fire in Orsha, the propaganda and training center at the Vitebsk Regional Emergency Situations Department informed a BELTA correspondent.
The incident occurred on the afternoon of July 27 in a two-room communal apartment on the first floor of a four-story building. No one was injured as a result of the fire. All three rescued individuals were sound asleep after consuming alcohol at the time of the fire; rescuers had to pull them out of the smoke-filled room directly from their beds. Evacuation of residents from neighboring apartments was not required.
As established, the owners of the rooms in the communal apartment are women born in 1990 and 1966, both unemployed; the rescued man, born in 1981, also unemployed, lived with one of them. According to neighbors, the residents of the communal apartment abuse alcohol.
The preliminary cause of the incident is considered to be carelessness while smoking by a relative of one of the women, who visited her that day. As a result of the fire, a sofa and walls in one of the apartment's rooms were damaged.-0-
