Three people rescued from a fire in a private house in Vitebsk

Three people were rescued by the Ministry of Emergency Situations (MES) employees during a fire in Vitebsk tonight, the press secretary of the regional MES department Marina Fando told a BELTA correspondent. A report about the incident in a private house was received by the operational control center of the MES Directorate from neighbors at about 4 a.m. By the time the MES units arrived, the roof of the residential building was completely engulfed in flames. Rescuers pulled the sleepy owner of the house (born in 1961), his mother (born in 1930), and his sister (born in 1957) out of the burning house. The elderly woman was hospitalized in the regional clinical hospital with signs of poisoning from combustion products. The suspected cause of the incident is carelessness when handling fire. As a result of the fire, the roof, ceiling, and some property in the house were damaged. The preliminary damage is estimated at Br3 million. -0-
