Three dairy enterprises of the Vitebsk region plan to undergo certification according to EU requirements in 2010
March 19, Vitebsk / Olga Bogacheva - BELTA /. Three dairy industry enterprises of the Vitebsk region intend to confirm the quality of their products to the requirements of the European Union in 2010, the deputy general director for production issues of the Vitebsk concern "Meat-Dairy Products" Elena Lifar told a BELTA correspondent.
OJSC "Polotsk Dairy Plant" intends to obtain a certificate of conformity to the quality management system LST EN ISO 9001:2008 and food safety LST EN ISO 22000:2005 for skimmed milk, OJSC "Glubokoye Dairy Canning Plant" for dairy preserves, and OJSC "Moloko" (Vitebsk) for animal butter and hard cheeses produced at the Shumilino branch. Currently, a whole range of work is being carried out at these enterprises for certification: production and storage facilities are being prepared, the оформление and maintenance of documentation are being checked, and the professional training of employees at all levels is being improved.
It is planned to invite a certification group from a Lithuanian certification body, accredited by the National Bureau of the Republic of Lithuania and authorized by the EU to conduct audits and issue certificates of conformity to European quality and safety requirements, in May.
In addition, the list of other enterprises of the concern that will also undergo similar certification in the near future is currently being determined. So far, it includes Vitebsk Meat Processing Plant and Lepel Dairy Canning Plant, the interlocutor noted.
Passing certification for compliance with EU requirements for Belarusian enterprises is a recognition of the high quality of their products, which opens the way to the markets of European countries. OJSC "Verkhnedvinsk Butter and Cheese Factory" was the first in Belarus to receive a certificate of conformity to the quality management system LST EN ISO 9001:2008 and food safety LST EN ISO 22000:2005 in November last year. -0-
