A thirteen-year-old hacker from Orsha robbed his classmate's stepfather's e-wallet

March 15, Vitebsk / Olga Bogacheva - BELTA /. A young hacker from Orsha stole his classmate's stepfather's e-wallet, Sergey Alepkin, prosecutor of the department for supervision of inquiries of the Vitebsk region prosecutor's office, told a BELTA correspondent. From the EasyPay e-wallet of a resident of Orsha, a local 13-year-old 8th-grader stole over Br500 thousand. The thoughtfulness and ingenuity of his actions surprised even experienced law enforcement officers. Thus, while preparing for the crime, the student thoroughly studied information on the Internet about the operation of payment systems and methods of concealing traces of criminal actions, posted on various criminal-oriented websites, developed and used special software that allows concealing traces of the crime from the police. The hacker penetrated the Orsha resident's computer via the Internet and copied his data, and transferred the stolen money to his e-wallet registered in someone else's name. By coincidence, the victim turned out to be his classmate's stepfather. In accordance with the legislation, criminal liability arises from the age of 14. Therefore, the teenager managed to avoid punishment, although for the crime committed by him, the Criminal Code of Belarus (Part 2, Article 212 "Theft by using computer technology, combined with unauthorized access to computer information") provides for up to 5 years of imprisonment. Now, the excellent student in exact sciences and an exemplary schoolboy has been registered with the juvenile inspection and is under special control by law enforcement agencies. Initially, police officers thought that the teenager's older brother had committed this crime. However, during the investigation, it turned out that the younger family member turned out to be more talented and less law-abiding. -0-
