A trio of winter months and an orchestra of Ded Moroz will lead the parade in Vitebsk

A Trio of Winter Months and an Orchestra of Grandfathers Frost Will Lead the New Year's Parade in Vitebsk, as Reported by the City Executive Committee.

The main Christmas tree of the Vitebsk region will be lit up with multi-colored lights on the evening of December 23. Traditionally, this long-awaited festive moment will be preceded by a New Year's procession of Grandfathers Frost, Snow Maidens, and fairy-tale characters along Lenin Street to Victory Square.

"We invite citizens to meet the fairy tale in Vitebsk together, to welcome five hundred Grandfathers Frost and as many Snow Maidens, and another 750 various fairy-tale and mythological characters, forest animals, disguised gypsies, and others. And, as always, the winter trinity on horseback – December, January, and February – will lead this procession. Following them, a military brass band in Grandfather Frost costumes will march with cheerful pop songs and marches. Not only people but also technology will be involved in the masquerade – the symbol of the coming year, the Red Rooster, will be on wheels," the city executive committee reported.

The "Let's Light Up the Tree Together" event at Victory Square will involve both children and adults in an engaging game and concert entertainment program. Creative groups and performers from the city of Vitebsk will perform on stage. Talented schoolchildren and young athletes will be awarded New Year's souvenirs.
