Illegal goods were detained three times in one section of the M1 highway in a single day

Three batches of illegal cargo worth a total of Br328.3 million were detained in one day on the same section of the M1 Brest-Minsk-Russian Federation border highway, the Vitebsk Customs informed a BELTA correspondent. First, officers of the operational search department of the Vitebsk Customs, in cooperation with the Department for Financial Investigations of the State Control Committee of the Republic of Belarus for the Vitebsk region and the tax inspection for the Oktyabrsky district of Vitebsk, stopped a Mercedes bus driven by a Belarusian citizen. During the inspection of the cabin, goods were found - car acoustic systems, household fan heaters, air humidifiers, dog grooming clippers, submersible pumps. All these goods were transported within the Customs Union without accompanying documents, their preliminary cost is estimated at Br16.7 million. A little later, during the same special operation, a MAZ vehicle driven by a Belarusian citizen carrying grass seeds was stopped. There were no accompanying documents for this cargo, preliminarily valued at Br61.8 million. During the inspection of the cargo compartment of another vehicle, stopped for inspection on the same section of the road, keychains, metal tape, and hairpins were found, which, as in the first two cases, were transported without accompanying documents. However, even the preliminary valuation of the seized cargo exceeded the previous two seizures threefold and amounted to Br249.8 million. Checks are being carried out on all three cases. -0-
