Students of the Vitebsk Veterinary Academy will study tropical animal diseases in the new academic year

July 8, Vitebsk / Olga Bogacheva - BELTA /. Students of the Vitebsk Academy of Veterinary Medicine will begin studying tropical animal diseases in the new academic year, the university's first vice-rector Rostislav Kuzmich told a BELTA correspondent. The introduction of the unusual course is due to several factors. Thus, every year more and more foreigners enroll in the veterinary academy. Currently, 30 students from ten foreign countries - India, the USA, Bangladesh, Israel, Iran, and others - are already studying here. This year, groups from China and Turkmenistan will join them, and negotiations are underway with Kazakhstan. These young specialists must leave with the most complete baggage of knowledge, as they will have to treat such diseases in their home countries in most cases. At the same time, it is no less important for our students to know the specifics of tropical diseases, the interlocutor emphasized, as they also often have to treat exotic animals and birds belonging to private owners, zoos, or circuses. In addition, the course of such diseases in local animals differs. Students will get acquainted with the new subject in their fifth year, as at the final stage of their studies, they already possess knowledge of the main clinical disciplines and are ready for a deeper understanding of them, Rostislav Kuzmich added. -0-
