Diligence and Spirituality: Youth Upbringing Discussed in Vitebsk
On the Vitebsk region, public reception offices continue to operate to collect initiatives on constitutional reform and pressing issues of the country and regions. Various proposals concerning the future of our country were heard during the work of the public reception office in Vitebsk by Yuri Vizhikovskiy, Deputy Chairman of the Committee for Architecture and Construction of the Regional Executive Committee, and Valery Bashmetov, Deputy Chairman of the regional organization of the RPO "Belaya Rus".
According to Ruslan Novikov, Chairman of the Youth Chamber of Vitebsk, heads of local executive bodies – heads of cities, districts, regions – should not be appointed by the Head of State, but elected:
– We will involve the population in political culture, and a leader elected in this way will have great responsibility to the voters.
So that individual citizens do not have a misunderstanding of Article 33 of the Constitution, which states "Everyone is guaranteed freedom of opinion, beliefs and their free expression," Tatyana Onishchik proposed to add: "in forms, words and actions that do not violate public order, comply with generally accepted norms of morality, ethical and aesthetic principles."
Pensioner Leonid Svirzhevsky believes that the Parliament should have only one chamber, there is no point in dividing it into two, as they do the same job anyway. He would also like pensioners to have their travel benefits, road tax payments, and others reinstated. In addition, Leonid Kazimirovich proposed that one of the country's major retail chains should not raffle off apartments and cars, but instead use this money to create a fund to help sick children or doctors.

It is difficult not to notice that society is increasingly clearly divided into those who create and build, and those who are indifferent or strive to destroy everything. Therefore, Tatyana proposed to introduce an educational element in labor lessons at schools:
– Children should not do something abstract, like, maybe, coit will come in handy someday, and to try to do good for someone for a specific purpose. For example, to make benches, railings, signs, plaques with wise sayings for the improvement of recreation areas and other public places, with the right to put inscriptions on their masterpieces: "To our beloved city from the students of class X of school Y." Then the children will personally, by their own example, understand how difficult it is to do this, and they will not have the desire to destroy everything around.

Alexander Galay is sure that young people behave unworthily because they live without God in their souls:
– A spiritual reformation of Belarus must take place, repentance; the nation can only be reborn on the basis of Christian, family values. But for this, more attention must be paid to the spiritual education of youth.

In Vitebsk, the work of public reception offices will continue every Wednesday and Friday from 16:00 to 20:00, where specialists from various departments will listen to citizens' proposals. Initiatives voiced during the work of public reception offices are currently being accumulated and will be discussed at the All-Belarusian People's Assembly, where a strategy for the further development of our country will be developed.
