The Ministry of Emergency Situations Safety Center opened in Novopolotsk

Центр безопасности МЧС открылся в Новополоцке
One of the best in the country. This is how Anatoly Linevich, Aide to the President of the Republic of Belarus – Inspector for the Vitebsk Region, characterized the MES Safety Center opened in Novopolotsk.

– We see how often various emergency situations arise in different parts of the world, which people need to get out of. We must be prepared for this, – Anatoly Linevich stated at the opening of the facility.

The Vitebsk region is the only one in Belarus where three safety centers have been created, noted the head of the regional MES department, Colonel of the Internal Service Sergey Meshkolesin. The first was opened in Vitebsk in 2017, and since 2019, a similar center has been operating in Baran, Orsha district.

– When this center was conceived, – explains Dmitry Demidov, member of the Council of the Republic, Chairman of the Novopolotsk City Executive Committee, – the task was set to create it based on modern information and communication technologies, taking into account the specifics of the city. I am sure that this has been achieved.

The head of Novopolotsk emphasized that everything was done for the benefit of children. Because their health and life are the main values.

Visitors to the Novopolotsk MES Safety Center will be able to undergo practice-oriented training and interactive quests. With their help, not only children, but also adults and the elderly will learn to call emergency services and provide important information to dispatchers, avoid dangers, and act correctly in case of possible emergency situations.

More than 15 thematic zones have been set up, including an anti-crime sector. Augmented and virtual reality technologies help make learning engaging. By the way, this is largely due to the representatives of Polotsk State University. Another innovation of the Novopolotsk center is the "Industrial Safety" platform.

In addition to the project initiators, the regional department of the Ministry of Emergency Situations and the leadership of Novopolotsk, more than 40 enterprises and organizations of Novopolotsk took part in the creation of the center and the improvement of the adjacent territory, including OJSC "Naftan", SOOO "LLK-Naftan", OJSC "NefteZavodMontazh", etc. Financial support was also provided by the UNICEF representative office in Belarus and the Red Cross.

Anatoly Linevich, Sergey Meleshkin, and Dmitry Demidov thanked everyone who participated in the creation of the center and financially supported the project, which is designed to teach people of different ages the basics of life safety. In general, this is another step aimed at minimizing injuries and deaths from external causes in accordance with Directive No. 1 of the President of the Republic of Belarus.

The aesthetic aspect of the project implementation is also important for Novopolotsk. Next to the Ministry of Emergency Situations safety center (located at 22 Komsomolskaya Street), a modern children's playground has appeared. The new landscaping facility was first appreciated by the pupils of Novopolotsk kindergarten No. 35, who, together with activists of the city club of young rescuers-firefighters "Maximum", participated in the opening of the center. In the Year of Small Motherland, Novopolotsk residents have gained another cozy corner for active recreation and consolidation of useful knowledge for everyone.
