The Center for Chinese Language and Culture is opening at Polotsk State University

Center of Chinese Language and Culture is solemnly opening today at Polotsk State University, as reported by the university.

"The establishment of the center is an important practical result of the implementation of the agreement between partner universities - Polotsk State University and Belarusian National Technical University, on the basis of which the Confucius Institute for Science and Technology operates," - emphasized at PSU.

The cooperation agreement was signed in April of the current year. It provides for the expansion of Chinese language teaching and familiarization with Chinese culture. Implementing the agreements, at Polotsk State University, Chinese language studies began in October of the current year. More than 60 people attend the classes (university faculty, students, and schoolchildren). The teachers are highly qualified specialists who work using modern methodologies.

During the time that has passed since the signing of the agreement, Polotsk faculty and students have attended master classes on the art of Chinese calligraphy and traditional tea ceremonies, and visited a concert by the ensemble of Dalian University of Foreign Languages, which featured an introduction to musical folklore, folk dances of the PRC, and the art of wushu. In addition, PSU administration and faculty attended the second forum of the Association of Science and Technology Parks of High and New Technology Zones "Silk Road". University students participated in the IV Belarusian-Chinese Youth Innovation Forum "New Horizons 2017", which took place in Minsk in early November.
