A psychological support center has been established at Vitebsk State University
February 11, Vitebsk / Sergey Kochetov - BELTA /. A psychological support center has been established at the Vitebsk State University named after P. Masherov (VSU), Candidate of Psychological Sciences Elena Bobrova, Dean of the Faculty of Professional Development of the Institute for Professional Development and Retraining of VSU Personnel (IPK and PK), told a BELTA correspondent.
The center, as a structural unit of VSU, will work not only with university staff and students; residents and guests of the regional center will also be able to use the services of experienced psychologists. The center's activities are planned to be developed in several areas. "The university's human resources allow for making qualified psychological diagnostics, correction, and counseling more accessible to broad segments of the population," Elena Bobrova is confident. In the near future, the center will have a computer lab, a sensory room, and a relaxation room, and an accessible environment will also be organized. Staff from the VSU Faculty of Social Pedagogy and Psychology will participate in the center's work, and the methods and practical developments of the university's specialists will be used.
Here, one will be able to undergo psychological diagnostics to identify personality traits, determine the causes of developmental deviations, and receive a scientifically based interpretation of psychodiagnostic studies. Specialists are ready to provide support in resolving problems and making decisions regarding professional careers, and in family and domestic matters. The center intends to actively engage in educational and preventive work. In addition, it is planned to organize emergency psychological assistance for special service employees who, due to their professional duties, are required to be in extreme situations.
The immediate plans of the Faculty of Professional Development of the VSU IPK and PK also include organizing courses and trainings in the psycho-pedagogical field. It is expected that this year all interested individuals will be able to improve their skills in conducting business negotiations and learn the nuances of business communication. In addition, a promising area of work, especially with young people, is conducting trainings in the form of a social interactive theater, where any problem or life situation is acted out as a play with an analysis of possible solutions, Elena Bobrova added. -0-
