Energy efficiency centers at schools have been established in every district of the Vitebsk region
October 7, Vitebsk / Sergey Kochetov - BELTA/. Energy efficiency centers have been established at schools in every district of the Vitebsk region, Sergey Orekhov, deputy head of the regional executive committee's education department, told a BELTA correspondent. He is participating in the regional practical conference "The Role of the Teacher in Implementing Directive No. 3 'Savings and Thriftiness are the Main Factors of State Economic Security'," which is being held today in Vitebsk.
According to him, educational institutions in almost all districts are currently involved in developing and implementing the topic of energy saving in the educational process. To this end, the region has developed comprehensive methodological support for the energy-saving education and upbringing of children and adolescents. The search for new forms and methods of work in this area remains a relevant task. The energy efficiency centers established at the best educational institutions in each district are designed to summarize regional work experience and promote its dissemination in all schools of the district and the region as a whole. "The current task is to involve absolutely all institutions of the education system in this work at a qualitative level, it is necessary to provide methodological support to teachers and bring them up to the level of innovative educators working in the region," believes Sergey Orekhov.
Today, the methodological collection of work experience of teachers in the region includes about 500 developments. Three textbooks on this topic for grades 8-10 have been published, and a textbook on energy efficiency for primary school, which includes the best methodological developments of regional teachers, has recently been released. In addition, the Vitebsk region was the first in the country to start large-scale energy-saving events – energy marathons.
One of the popular forms of work has been the organization of club activities among younger schoolchildren. The pioneer in this direction is Secondary School No. 34 in Vitebsk, where the clubs "Beregosha" and "Kapelka" have been established. Young club members conduct peculiar raids, during which they monitor the implementation of energy-saving measures, and then speak at parent-teacher meetings with an analysis of the identified shortcomings, teaching adults to save heat and water. High school students and vocational education institutions are involved in research activities on the issue of energy saving.
During the conference, the work experience and methodological support for the process of educating and bringing up the younger generation on energy saving issues will be summarized, and further development paths in this direction will be outlined, noted Sergey Orekhov. The participants of the event will discuss the problems of integrating energy-saving topics into the content of lessons of various orientations and the organization of students' research activities. Methodological developments for conducting the elective course "Learning Savings and Thriftiness," for organizing the educational process in preschool institutions, and for promoting energy-saving ideas in working with the public and parents of schoolchildren will be presented to the teachers.
The Vitebsk Regional Institute for the Development of Education is the organizer of the conference. -0-
