The ceremony of canceling the postage block "1030th anniversary of Orthodoxy in the Belarusian lands" was held in Vitebsk

The Vitsyebsk Regional Library named after V.I. Lenin hosted a ceremony for the cancellation of a postal block "1030th Anniversary of Orthodoxy in the Belarusian Lands," prepared by the publishing center "Marka" of RUE "Belpochta." This block was put into circulation throughout the country by the Ministry of Communications and Informatization of the Republic of Belarus on September 22.

The postal block is a collector's item, which is why it is made with post-press technologies. The stamp features the official emblem of the 1030th anniversary of Orthodoxy in the Belarusian lands. The envelope depicts churches located in the historical cradle of Belarusian Orthodoxy.

Since 1992, the Ministry of Communications and Informatization and RUE "Belpochta", together with the Belarusian Orthodox Church, have prepared and issued a large number of postal projects on Christian themes. For 30 years, churches, icons, and bells have been depicted on postal products. Issues were dedicated to saints glorified on Belarusian land - Saint Euphrosyne of Polotsk, Saints Symeon of Polotsk, Kirill of Turov, and Saint Prince Konstantin Ostrozhsky.

The current year, declared the Year of Historical Memory in Belarus, is marked by an important event in the life of the BPC - the celebration of the 1030th anniversary of the founding of the Polotsk Diocese, which is simultaneously considered the date of the establishment of the Orthodox Church on Belarusian lands.

The postal block is a collector's item, which is why it is made with post-press technologies. The stamp is based on the official emblem of the 1030th anniversary of Orthodoxy on Belarusian lands. The envelope depicts churches located in the historical cradle of Belarusian Orthodoxy. For the first time in the 30-year history of Belarusian philately, one project contains 15 special commemorative postmarks, which means that today, in the cities of 15 dioceses, ceremonial cancellations of the postal block on a special envelope have taken place simultaneously.
