The "Yunost" circus from Novopolotsk held about a hundred performances in 2010

January 5, Vitebsk / Olga Bogacheva - BELTA /. The Honored Amateur Collective of Belarus, the "Yunost" circus of the Palace of Culture of OJSC "Naftan" (Novopolotsk), gave about a hundred performances in 2010. This was reported to a BELTA correspondent by the collective's director, Lyudmila Orlova. The main venue for the artists' performances is the Novopolotsk Palace of Culture. At the same time, the circus actively performs in various regions of Belarus. For many years, this collective has been a regular participant in the International Festival of Arts "Slavianski Bazaar in Vitebsk", a welcome guest at various creative events, amateur art reviews, and festivals of the highest level throughout the republic and abroad. For example, in 2010, the artists from Novopolotsk brought back 22 diplomas and 12 cups from two international circus art festivals held in Daugavpils and Riga (Latvia). For the high artistic level of its circus programs and active participation in the cultural life of the republic, the collective was awarded a special prize of the President of Belarus for cultural and art figures of 2010. "For the collective, this is a great honor, recognition of creative achievements, and at the same time, a responsibility and an incentive to improve their professionalism," noted Lyudmila Orlova. The "Yunost" circus was founded in 1969 by Alexander Shlyundin. Since 1990, it has been headed by professional circus artist Lyudmila Orlova, a recipient of the State Scholarship to Support Belarusian Cultural and Art Figures. The collective was awarded the "Exemplary" title in 1972, and in July 2010, it became the Honored Amateur Collective of Belarus. Currently, the circus has about 60 artists aged 4 to 40, who are engaged in the junior and middle groups. About 30 people are part of the concert troupe. The collective's awards include the titles of laureate of the Lenin Komsomol Prize of Belarus (1989), the prize of the Federation of Trade Unions of Belarus (2007), and winner of various republican and international festivals and competitions. In 2008, for participating in the Union State festival "Creativity of the Youth" (Moscow), the circus was awarded a diploma from the Standing Committee of the Union State. -0-
