A creative working meeting of state media editorial offices was held at the city newspaper «Novopolotsk Segodnya»

Творческая летучка редакций государственных СМИ состоялась на базе городской газеты «Новополоцк сегодня»
The Chairman of the Novopolotsk City Executive Committee, Dmitry Demidov, took part in it. Greetings from the Head of the Presidential Administration, Natalya Kochanova, and the Chairman of the Regional Executive Committee, Nikolai Sherstnev, were read to the staff. Employees were awarded honorary diplomas from the Regional Executive Committee, the City Executive Committee, the Main Department of Ideological Work, Culture and Youth Affairs, and the regional trade union organization of cultural workers. The Editor-in-Chief of the newspaper "Novopolotsk Segodnya", Nikolai Romanovsky, and correspondents Anna Obodova and Olga Banshchikova were presented with membership cards of the Public Association "Belarusian Association of Journalists".

The Editor-in-Chief of the newspaper "Novopolotsk Segodnya", Nikolai Romanovsky, spoke about the publication's work in modern conditions, creative achievements, and economic performance. A film about the life of the staff was also shown, which made it possible to see that the newspaper is authoritative in its region.

Then, the Main Department of Ideological Work, Culture and Youth Affairs of the Regional Executive Committee and the regional organization of the trade union of workers of culture, information, sports and tourism signed a Cooperation Agreement.

The speech by Svetlana Dedinkina, chief specialist of the Main Department of Ideological Work, Culture and Youth Affairs of the Regional Executive Committee, was interesting and informative. It discussed how to attract readers' attention through design and layout possibilities so that the material is desirable to read, and how to use photographs on the newspaper's pages. Everything was presented with specific examples.

Svetlana Dedinkina emphasized that, in addition to design approaches, headlines, sections, and content of materials, the level of criticality of the publication is an important component of success.

A review was made of how editorial offices report to the State Control Committee in accordance with Presidential Decree No. 630 "On the response of officials to critical statements in state media". Newspapers were noted where critical materials reveal shortcomings in various areas, as well as where such materials are absent altogether. Tasks were set for media managers to use modern

approaches in design, layout, paying attention to all issues that concern people, not forgetting the working person, preparing journalistic investigation publications more often, not bypassing problems and shortcomings.

Internet resources of mass media were also analyzed. Chief specialist of the main department Olga Bulavka stated that a news item on the Internet lives until the last comment, and gave a number of tips on how to fill websites, how to present news, fill them with various services, and highlight the most important information.

She is convinced that it is necessary to develop multimedia informativeness and apply new technical techniques.

Then the journalists visited the editorial office of "Novopolotsk Today". The premises were transferred by the founder to the ownership of the staff. Each employee has their own office equipped with the latest technology. This alone can indicate how much the founder values his newspaper.

Participants of the creative meeting took a sightseeing tour of the city, visited the Museum of History and Culture of Novopolotsk, and visited the memorial sign in honor of the city's first builders, "The First Tent".

Much surprised and impressed at the enterprise "Biomekhzavod of household secondary resources". Director Sergey Semenychev spoke in detail about the PET bottle processing line, where plastic flakes are produced from them. The enterprise employs 220 people who receive good wages. There is sufficient equipment, which allows for the collection of secondary raw materials from any enterprise in any quantity, and it is also purchased from the population.

Nowadays, housing committees, which the housing and communal services rely on in their work, are rarely preserved. But in Novopolotsk, on Molodezhnaya Street (12 kilometers long), in the courtyards of houses No. 194 with buildings, the results of such cooperation were shown: the territory is decorated with various flower beds and unexpected landscaping elements. There is a "smart" tennis table, a small lake, beautiful

fences, artistically decorated entrances to the building, playground equipment installed, coziness and cleanliness all around.

To conclude such a rich event, the head of the main department of ideological work, culture and youth affairs of the regional executive committee, Gennady Egorov, invited its participants to exchange views. Everyone was unanimous that such creative "fly-by-nights" provide an opportunity to learn about the experience of colleagues, gain new insights, and align their work directions with requirements and current tasks. And, no less importantly, to communicate with media managers and outline paths for mutually beneficial cooperation.
