A House of Culture was opened in Asveya, Verkhnedvinsk district
Members of amateur groups stood out in the crowd with the bright colors of their attire. Talented residents of Osveya displayed exhibitions along the building. And everyone was waiting for the moment they could step inside, as they had been able to observe its external transformation daily. Literally before their eyes, craftsmen were giving the walls a modern look.
And then the moment arrived when the Chairman of the Regional Council of Deputies, Vladimir Terentyev, the Head of the Main Department for Education of the Regional Executive Committee, Dmitry Khoma, the Chairman of the Verkhnedvinsk District Executive Committee, Vasily Shilov, who had specially come to Osveya for the opening of the Culture House, as well as the Chairman of the Osveya Rural Executive Committee, Sergey Novitsky, cut the red ribbon at its entrance. Residents of the urban-type settlement admired their new cultural institution with enthusiasm – the dance hall, where local artisans displayed their works, the assembly hall with its beautiful interior, rows of comfortable chairs, and a modern stage. More discerning individuals examined the equipment – microphones, amplifiers, light music systems, without which it is impossible to achieve the desired sound and create the right atmosphere.
All of this was tested during the concert. Soloists were replaced by bands on stage, and both modern and folk songs were performed. Additionally, a number of cultural workers were congratulated and awarded for their merits in preserving and developing folk art, ahead of their professional holiday. Among them was Lyubov Marinskaya, the head of the Senkovo Culture House, who was awarded the diploma of Honorary Citizen of the Verkhnedvinsk District. Her 40 years of work at the Culture House, which is widely known not only for its amateur creativity but also for its systematic work in perpetuating the memory of those who died during the Great Patriotic War, will soon be celebrated. Lyubov Ivanovna wrote the history of the Senkovo Immortal Regiment, which remembers every single one of those who fought against the brown plague. At the opening of the Osveya Culture House, her amateur group delighted the audience with a cappella performances of folk songs.
Vasil Shylau spoke about the district's achievements in landscaping, job creation, the social sphere, and the development prospects of Asveya. He reported that the urban settlement is included in the regional program for the development of small towns. Over the past three years, more than 5 million rubles have already been invested in Asveya's infrastructure – a branded store of the butter and cheese factory has been opened, a bathhouse has been renovated, two residential buildings have been renovated this year, and a cultural center has been opened.
The renovation of the building began in the first quarter, and it was commissioned in early October, creating excellent conditions for people's work and leisure in a short period. The cultural center and library are located here, and the music school is planned to move in the future. The cultural center is attended by over 1200 people and has eight club formations. The library's collection has almost 15,000 publications used by over a thousand readers, and the literary and local history club "Literary Drawing Room" operates here.
The program of the visit of representatives of the regional authorities to Asveya was intensive. Vladimir Terentiev and Dmitry Khoma met with graduates of the local secondary school, where during a discussion, they asked the students about their future plans and what they would like to have in Asveya to encourage them to return after their studies.
Not all of the young men and women present only dream of moving to the city. A nurse or a rescuer will find a place in their small homeland. Even science can be pursued within the structure of the Krasny Bor reserve. However, for teenagers, a good sports base and studios for creative development and dance classes are needed.
– All this will be a reality, – assured the graduates the Chairman of the Regional Council of Deputies. – Already next year, the school students will receive modern and comfortable conditions for study, physical education, and sports.
Life dictates the solutions to many problems. One of the most pressing is state construction and the role of primary local self-government bodies in it. This issue was also discussed during the meeting of Vladimir Terentiev with the chairmen of rural councils and rural executive committees of the Verkhnedvinsk district.
