"The Golden Fish" and "The Arch of Wishes" appeared in Braslav
For the 950th anniversary of Braslav, the Vidzy College presented the city with wonderful gifts – the "Golden Fish" and the "Arch of Wishes," which are installed at the entrance to the district center.
Two new architectural forms, united by the idea of eternal human dreams and their fulfillment, have added a unique flavor to the appearance of the ancient city. The fish, shining in the sun's rays with a golden crown on its head, seems to emerge from the waves of the lake. Approach it, open your most secret dreams, and then leisurely walk under the arch on the cobblestones of the early last century, thinking about how to turn a fairy tale into reality. These thoughts probably come to many townspeople and their guests, as more and more people have been coming here since the installation of the two works by Vidzy craftsmen.
Meanwhile, the college director Mikhail Smirnov and masters of technical creativity are nurturing a new idea: to make the cobblestone pavement the "Road of Wishes," and to create a unique urban landscape using metal plastic. The beginning has already been made. Recall that earlier the district center was decorated with the "Musical Bench" near the art school and the "Tree of Friendship" in the small square near the district executive committee.
In his free time, the college director takes a pencil and puts down the images that have matured in his head on paper. Sketch, drawing, mathematical calculations, searching for the right material... When everything is done, masters Edward Statskevich and Anton Zholobovsky take over – talented people who know how to weave delicate lace from metal. As a result of this union, wonderful things, interesting figures and forms are born.
