The need to establish order and assist personal subsidiary plots in the spring sowing was discussed today at a meeting of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee by its chairman, Alexander Kosinets, BELTA correspondent reports. "Patrons must be assigned to each village, to each farmstead," the governor said. Road services and housing and communal services will have to pay close attention to the improvement of more than 6,000 settlements, regardless of the number of residents. Given that most residents in remote villages are pensioners, they need help repairing fences and demolishing unnecessary buildings. The chairman of the regional executive committee emphasized that the practice of building new homesteads on the outskirts of settlements is being discontinued in the region. There are almost 9.5 thousand vacant plots in the villages, where construction will be carried out. Alexander Kosinets instructed the chairmen of district executive committees to more actively advertise these plots, offering them for housing construction to young specialists. The head of the region also demanded that the heads of local authorities organize work in such a way that the cultivation of personal gardens is carried out within the same timeframe as on public fields. "Personal subsidiary plots and farmers contribute to the gross volume of agricultural production. They need real help and respectful attention to their needs," Alexander Kosinets emphasized. -0-
