In Miorai, the central district hospital was solemnly opened
Residents of the Miory region have been awaiting the opening of the central district hospital for over two decades. The construction began coinciding with the collapse of the Soviet Union, when no one paid attention to provincial hospitals. Later, attempts to complete its construction were made more than once. However, the work could not be moved from a standstill until the head of the country drew attention to the long-delayed construction. A year was given for the commissioning of the hospital.

Thanks to the Administration of the President and the Committee of State Control of Belarus, the Miory medical institution was included in the investment program. According to it, the republican budget and the Vitebsk region allocated 4 million rubles each for the completion of construction. And the Ministry of Health purchased equipment for 1.8 million rubles.
And just the other day, the modern district hospital, whose building was occupied by medical staff and patients on May 8, was officially opened. Its commissioning will not only increase the level of care for local residents but also enable the implementation of a unique healthcare project, which has no analogues in the country today. In the near future, next to the Miory Central District Hospital, the first clinic in Belarus certified according to European standards may appear.
During the solemn event, the Chairman of the Regional Council of Deputies, Vladimir Terentyev, emphasized the significance of the event: the residents of the Miory region received the opportunity for a qualitatively new medical service, and medical workers – excellent conditions for providing care. Many contributed to making this possible in the shortest possible time, including the builders of "PolotskSelStroy" and more than 20 other organizations.
The new Miory Central District Hospital is a convenient, compact medical town. The three-story treatment building is designed for 120 beds. Nearby are the administrative and economic building and the food block. On the eve of the professional holiday, the head of the deputy corps wished the medical workers that their work would bring them satisfaction and be fruitful.
"The long-held dream of the district's residents has come true – they have received a new modern hospital," stated the Chairman of the District Executive Committee Igor Kuznetsov, and thanked everyone involved.
The Chief Physician of the Central District Hospital Alena Sivaya and her deputy Svetlana Birukova gladly showed the guests the wards and talked about the received equipment. They demonstrated an incubator for premature infants, one of three such devices in the country's healthcare facilities, warming delivery tables, state-of-the-art resuscitation equipment, a digital X-ray machine, and operating room equipment.
The first patients have already appreciated the comfort of the wards with hot water, bathrooms, new furniture, and the quality of treatment. This was mentioned by a woman who gave birth here a few days ago, as well as another woman who was in the pediatric department with her sick daughter. A man in the intensive care unit, who recently had a heart attack, did not spare words of gratitude for the medical staff.
In a word, the hopes of the residents of Miory District have been fulfilled. Builders received awards for their work, the chief physician received the keys to the hospital building, as well as a certificate from the District Executive Committee for the purchase of an ambulance. Local artists adorned the celebration with songs and dances.
