XXIII International Festival of Arts "Slavianski Bazaar in Vitebsk" will be one of the brightest cultural events of the Year of Hospitality. This was reported to BELTA by the press service of the Belarusian government following a meeting of the organizing committee for the preparation and holding of the forum, chaired by Deputy Prime Minister Anatoly Tozik.

This year, the festival will be held from July 10 to 14. Its main idea will be the unity of Slavic cultures and peoples in the national cultural center of Belarus - the hospitable city of Vitebsk.

Key events of this year's festival program include the opening and closing galas, the XXIII International Pop Song Performers Competition "Vitebsk-2014", the XII International Children's Music Competition "Vitebsk-2014", as well as a concert that will be held as part of Friendship Day on July 13. Its theme will be the 70th anniversary of the liberation of Belarus from the Nazi invaders and the upcoming 70th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War in 2015.

The format of the festival competitions is planned to be changed. "The National State Television and Radio Company of the Republic of Belarus will create a special television project on the holding of national qualifying rounds for the international pop song performers competition and the children's music competition "Vitebsk", and the preparation of the winners of the qualifying rounds for the competitions (including the holding of diaries)," the government's press service said.

During the festival of arts, a jubilee program "I Returned to My Homeland" is planned, dedicated to the 100th anniversary of Mark Fradkin, with the participation of the Honored Collective of Belarus "National Academic Orchestra of Symphony and Popular Music of the Republic of Belarus" under the direction of People's Artist of Belarus, Professor Mikhail Finberg.

Youth Day events (July 11-12) will also take place, including a press conference, the "DJ Music Battle" youth program, a festival of youth subcultures with master classes, the "Belarus in My Heart!" youth subculture parade, the "Thank You for Life!" patriotic event, and the "Fire of Dance - 2014" international youth festival.

Commercial concerts are also planned with the invitation of Russian pop and chanson stars: Philipp Kirkorov, Stas Mikhailov, Boris Moiseev, Mikhail Shufutinsky, the "Turetsky Choir" art group, Nadezhda Kadysheva and the "Golden Ring" ensemble, the "Lyube" group, and others.

A total of 19 concert programs are proposed to be held at the main festival venue (in the Summer Amphitheater), including 4 night concerts.

As noted by the government's press service, the Vitebsk Culture Center has been fully implementing ticket sales for all events through an electronic distribution system (partner - SOOO "Kvitki Bel") since December 2013.
