In Polotsk, the winners of the regional competition "Uladar syala" (Master of the Village) have been determined

У Полацку вызначаны пераможцы абласнога конкурсу «Уладар сяла»

What wasn't there: bread and loaves, potato pancakes, cracklings with sausages, cucumbers and apples, woven carpets and wooden crafts, presentations of their own farms, songs and dances, binding sheaves and harnessing horses. All this could be seen at the regional stage of the republican competition "Master of the Village", which brought together 14 best young families from different parts of the Vitebsk region in Polotsk. For most townspeople, such a list is an exotic thing, but for the inhabitants of the Belarusian village, it is everyday life, to which young families who have chosen a small settlement for their lives are accustomed.

At the beginning of the competition, guests of the ancient city on the Dvina were treated to an interesting excursion around local attractions. The participants admitted that although they live nearby, they had not yet managed to see the Holy Euphrosyne Monastery and the Saint Sophia Cathedral, and learn about their history. They explained: "There is no time, there is always a lot of work in the village". The new school No. 18 named after Euphrosyne of Polotsk, on the basis of which the competition took place, surprised with its scale. It was here that the exhibition of achievements in creativity and daily life of young families unfolded.

On the stage of the assembly hall, participants presented their video presentations "Welcome in Belarusian", in the labor room, they cooked potato pancakes, on the stadium, they tied and decorated sheaves, sorted potatoes, and harnessed a horse.

As noted by Gennady Sabinich, Deputy Chairman of the Committee for Agriculture and Food of the Regional Executive Committee, the project unites families every year and glorifies the person of the land:

– Rural workers are the pride of the Dvina region, they will always be respected, because the food security of the region depends on them. I thank the organizers of the competition – the Regional Committee of the BRSM – for popularizing life in the village and family values.

For the third time, Pyotr Pyatkevich, Deputy Chairman of the Polotsk District Executive Committee, is among the jury members of the regional competition. But this year, he admitted, it was especially difficult to choose the best, as all participants were of a very high level.

As a result, the Ovchinko family from Druya, Braslav district, demonstrated the best presentation of their own farm and the hospitality of their home. The Kurylenok family from the agro-town of Leonishana, Verkhnedvinsk district, was the most creative in their introduction. Among the exhibitions of family achievements, the jury recognized the work of Olga and Alexander Romanovich from the agro-town of Radzyuki, Sharkovshchyna district, as the best. Vera and Pavel Bondaryov from Dubrovensky district made the tastiest draniki. The Kudrosh family from Beshenkovichi district turned out to be the best at sorting potatoes, the Labeiko family from Shumilino district at harnessing a horse, and the Tetyuev family from Senno district excelled at tying sheaves.

As a result of the entire competition program, the Syropyatko family from Glubokoe district took third place, and the Romanovich family from Sharkovshchyna district took second place. And at the republican competition, which will take place during the "Dazhynki" in Horadok, our region will be represented by the winners – the Kurylenok family from the agro-town of Leonishana, Verkhnedvinsk district.

Eduard and Raisa work at the local agricultural enterprise "Leonishana", are raising three children, and take care of their own farm and homestead. They live in a "presidential" house that is drowning in flowers. And they admit that they never get bored in the village.

– There's no time! It's interesting to live and work in Leonishana, – say Eduard and Raisa.

The winners went home in high spirits, with vivid impressions and good gifts. Participants and the regional committee of the BRSM express sincere words of gratitude to the Polotsk District Executive Committee for their hospitality.
