Early potato harvesting has begun in the Vitebsk region

Farms in five districts of the Vitebsk region have started harvesting early potatoes, a BELTA correspondent was informed by the committee for agriculture and food of the regional executive committee. Work on potato fields has begun in the Tolochin, Verkhnedvinsk, Polotsk, Vitebsk, and Shumilino districts. As of August 9, 630 tons have been harvested with an average yield of 258 c/ha. In total, 5.6 thousand hectares have been allocated for potatoes in the region, with less than 1% of the areas harvested. Farms in the Gorodok and Dubrovno districts have completed flax pulling, and in three more districts (Orsha, Senno, and Beshenkovichi) this work is close to completion. In total, flax has been pulled in the region over an area of more than 15.6 thousand hectares, which is 84% of the plan. Within 4-5 days, farms plan to fully complete flax pulling, the committee added. -0-
