Students of the Gorodok Agricultural and Technical College are mastering the basics of their profession on flagship MTZ equipment

Annually, about 400 students with the qualification of "mechanic technician" and a tractor driver-machinist certificate graduate from this agricultural college. The relevance of knowledge and practice is ensured by the resource center operating at the educational institution. Its heart is the MTZ equipment laboratory, equipped with a complete set of "Belarus-3022" units, as well as a "Belarus-2103" tracked tractor and a "Belarus-3522" wheeled tractor. And recently, the "Belarus-3525" tractor joined this lineup. The new modification of the 350-horsepower machine took a central place in the equipment range, arousing keen interest among future mechanics. Moreover, the flagship MTZ model is studied not only by students of the Gorodok College but also by students from other vocational education institutions of agricultural profile from all over the Vitebsk region.

Stanislav SMIRNOV, a student of the Polotsk State Vocational Lyceum of Agricultural Production, came to the resource center for training.

THUS, these days, in accordance with the schedule, students from the Polotsk Lyceum of Agricultural Production are gaining practical skills at the resource center. Considering the weather, classes are held indoors, where third-year students are mastering the specifics of tractor operation, familiarizing themselves with its characteristics, and learning to eliminate malfunctions. With the start of the spring season, the students will hone their skills in the fields of the training farm.

Alexander Smirnov, head of the resource center, and students of the Polotsk State Vocational Lyceum of Agricultural Production Konstantin Shalunov, Stanislav Smirnov, Andrey Potemkin, and Vadim Pogorilo during classes.

Classmates Andrey Potemkin, Valentin Shalunov, Vadim Pogorilo, and Stanislav Smirnov are enthusiastically inspecting the "Belarus-3525". Their gaze is serious, but with a spark. Each of them realizes the value of the opportunity to study such a machine during their studies, as the acquired knowledge will be useful in the near future – they will have to apply it in production practice, which will begin in a month, notes Stanislav Smirnov:

— I have already completed an internship in one of the farms in the Verkhnedvinsk district and I know that in the Vitebsk region, graduates are usually sent to the best agricultural enterprises.enterprises that have modern equipment. And you need to know how to work with it. It is clear that experience still needs to be polished, but the initial foundation must be there. Therefore, it is important to understand how the machine is designed, what it represents. Even if not immediately, then later, I am sure, you will have to work on such a tractor. And it is also useful for self-development: this knowledge will definitely come in handy in life. It's good that there are such centers where you can practice the necessary skills at a good level in person.

The serious motivation of all the guys to master new equipment is also noted by Yuri Sorochinsky, Deputy Director of the college for educational and production work:

— In our resource center, we give students that layer of practical knowledge that is not available in the standard educational process. At the same time, students from other vocational educational institutions of the agricultural profile of the region also receive it. Representatives of each of them come to us according to the schedule to hone their skills. A 40-hour program has been developed, which includes a deep dive into modern units, the basics of diagnostics, and troubleshooting. The guys gain comprehensive knowledge of the design of engines, hydraulics, electronics, and other systems, and learn the basic principles of operation applicable to any mechanism — from a simple car to complex energy-intensive equipment. This is how they become specialists who know how to correctly operate and maintain complex agricultural machinery.

Another important incentive for the students of the Gorodok College to strive in their studies is that, with decent results, the best of them are involved in working at the vehicle service station, which is open at the college, to link study with practice. And additional earnings to the scholarship— a serious argument for yesterday's boys!

And by September 1, it is planned to open an additional section for tractor maintenance here. Equipment for repairing cylinder head blocks has been purchased, and a welding shop has been equipped. A locksmith's workshop will soon be equipped, and future plans include opening a hydraulic equipment repair shop and adding a truck tire fitting service for repairing wheel damage up to 2.5 meters high.
