Children from the Vitebsk region took part in the country's main Christmas tree
The main Christmas tree of the country gathered children from all regions of Belarus on December 28. Traditionally, the New Year's performance at the Palace of the Republic became a kind of culmination of the nationwide campaign "Our Children". About 2500 children arrived in Minsk. According to tradition, the head of state congratulated the boys and girls.
These included orphans and children left without parental care, children raised in foster families, pupils of cadet schools, children of refugees, winners of international, republican and regional Olympiads, sports competitions, creative contests and festivals, as well as those who have achieved success in public work.
Among those who attended this performance was Anton Shaikho, a student of secondary school No. 45. He is a master of sports in trampoline jumping and trains at the SDYUSSHOR No. 1 under the renowned coach Olga Vlasova.
– This was my first time at such a Christmas tree, I met many interesting guys. Many participants said that such a large-scale show with dances, a decorated hall, circus performances, with the participation of famous actors and hosts, had not been held in previous years, – said 16-year-old Anton. – We were given gifts: a Santa hat, candies in a beautiful wooden box. I remember the President's speech, especially his thought that everything must be done on time.
