The participants of the field headquarters familiarized themselves with the progress of work on the preparation of Shumilino for the regional "Dazhynki".
It became clear upon entering the settlement that the district leadership had approached the task assigned to it responsibly, and the urban-type settlement was ready to assume the status of the capital of the regional "Dazhynki". Many buildings are shrouded in scaffolding like a spiderweb, workers are "conjuring" over the facades, and work is in full swing on laying paving slabs and landscaping the adjacent territories.
The participants of the meeting visited the reconstructed facilities, familiarized themselves with the progress of the work, and considered in detail the issues of preparing Shumilino for the upcoming holiday. Work in the district center is in full swing, some of it is in the final stage. One of these facilities is the stadium. Sports and entertainment events will be held here. According to Dmitry Dubovsky, chief specialist of the Shumilino District Executive Committee, the stadium is planned to be commissioned by the end of August. Sports grounds with outdoor exercise equipment and workout areas have already been installed on its territory, and artificial turf has been laid on the running track. It remains to install the stands, a hockey rink, and green turf.
Undoubtedly, the district center will be significantly transformed by the regional "Dazhynki". More than a hundred facilities will be renovated here. For example, very soon the renovated House of Culture will open its doors for artists and local residents. According to Petr Podgursky, head of the culture department of the regional executive committee, builders are replacing "all the insides" of this facility – from utility networks to equipment, and are landscaping the territory. New technical capabilities will also appear there: a screen will be installed on the stage.
During the meeting, Vladimir Terentyev repeatedly drew attention to the fact that making beautiful building facades and creating an attractive exterior is one thing, but the main thing is the convenience and comfort of the residents.
– Shumiino is already leaving pleasant impressions today, – stated Vladimir Vladimirovich. – Of course, much will have to be done in the remaining month. Undoubtedly, even after the holiday, landscaping and cleanup work in the urban settlement will definitely continue; this task is set by the regional leadership. It is also pleasant that today all state organizations and private structures are involved and are not idle.
The central park will become one of the attractions of the district center. A pleasing picture is already emerging here: active work is underway on laying paving slabs, as well as on the construction of the Alley of Heroes, a recreation area with a fountain, a children's town, and a workout area.
By the way, local organizations and enterprises are developing and installing small architectural forms at their own expense.
Landscaping is also being carried out on the territory of the church in honor of St. Nicholas the Wonderworker.
– During the Great Patriotic War, the ancient church in the urban settlement was dismantled by the Germans for defensive structures, – said the dean of the churches of the Shumiino district, Archpriest Fyodor. – Since then, there have been no churches here. Construction began in 2012, when the first stone was solemnly laid and a cross was erected on the site of the future altar. Today, a two-story church is already in operation, exterior finishing is being completed, and landscaping of the territory is next. They plan to plant thuja trees, create flower beds, and install a small playground here.
Incidentally, Vladimir Babichev, the first secretary of the regional committee of the BRSM, who was present at the meeting, offered feasible volunteer assistance to Archpriest Fyodor in landscaping the only church in the district center.
The trade sector is also preparing to welcome the festival guests with dignity.
– Today, work is underway in the district center at more than 45 facilities in the trade, public catering, and consumer services sectors, – said Irina Levkovich, head of the main department of trade and services of the regional executive committee. – All work is carried out without attracting budget funds, solely through own financing. A budget of about 2 million rubles is provided. Currently, more than 70% of it has been utilized.
Vladimir Terentyev emphasized to those present that a huge amount of work has been done, but this is no reason to relax. Everything must be done with high quality, efficiently, and within the established timeframe.

Preparations for "Dazhynki" are in full swing, and Shumilino is acquiring the appearance of a modern district center, becoming more attractive every day. The park promises to be very good. There are more flowers in the town, new flowerbeds have appeared, as well as decorative elements. In other words, Shumilino is being transformed, and this is a huge plus.
