Unexpected holidays for schoolchildren from Dokshitsky, Shumilinsky, Braslavsky, Gubkovsky, Chashniksky, Sharkovshchinsky and Miorsky districts, the Vitebsk Regional Center for Hygiene, Epidemiology and Public Health informed a BELTA correspondent. As of November 24, the educational process has resumed in 372 schools. From November 1 to November 24, 95,736 people were diagnosed with influenza and ARVI in the region, of whom 40,204, or 41.9%, were children. 2,599 people were hospitalized, 54% of them children. Comprehensive action plans to combat influenza and acute respiratory viral infections continue to be implemented in 16 administrative units of the Vitebsk region. These comprehensive plans were introduced by the orders of the chief state sanitary doctors of the administrative territories in order to prevent the maximum spread of influenza and other acute respiratory diseases. As of November 23, the rate of visits for colds in Vitebsk exceeded the norm by 4.6 times, in Orsha - by 3.68 times, in Polotsk - by 3.54 times, in Novopolotsk - by 3.6 times. -0-
