MChS exercises were held at the railway station in Orsha
According to the plan of the exercises, as a result of an explosion on track 48, a tank car carrying liquefied ammonia was depressurized. As a result, a gaseous cloud of ammonia spread towards residential areas. Law enforcement officers cordoned off the emergency site.
Notification and evacuation of the administration and civilian personnel from the station building were promptly organized. To eliminate the emergency situation, rescuers involved a fire train and took all necessary measures to suppress the toxic ammonia cloud.
Specialists from the center of hygiene and epidemiology conducted measurements of the substance concentration in the air, and medics provided first aid to the victims. Representatives of the Red Cross also did not stand aside – psychological support was very timely.
In other words, all the involved services of the district coped with the task of the exercises excellently.
The "Unified Safety Day" continued with a concert program at the Victory Cultural Center, an exhibition of emergency rescue equipment, and interactive safety contests.
