Scientists from CIS countries and Eastern Europe will discuss anatomy department issues in Vitebsk
September 14, Vitebsk / Sergey Kotovets - BELTA/. Scientists from medical universities of the CIS and Eastern Europe will gather in Vitebsk for the conference "Scientific Organization of the Activities of Anatomy Departments in Modern Conditions," as reported to BELTA correspondent by Alexander Usovich, Doctor of Medical Sciences and Head of the Department of Human Anatomy at Vitebsk State Medical University (VSMU). The conference will be held on November 4-5 at VSMU.
A total of about 100 scientists and anatomists from Belarus, Russia, Ukraine, Kazakhstan, and Moldova are expected to participate in the event. Representatives from Germany, Bulgaria, Poland, and the Baltic states have also shown interest in the scientific forum. The main issue of the conference will be the discussion of problems related to ensuring the educational process and scientific research in anatomical specialties, as well as replenishing the collections of anatomical and histological specimens in medical universities and research centers. The complexity of these issues is due to the need to use natural biomaterials in the educational process, which in turn involves the competence of various departments, as well as ethical issues, noted Alexander Usovich.
At the plenary sessions, the forum participants will exchange experiences on organizing the work of anatomical units in educational and scientific institutions of various countries, and will also develop unified standards for the legal support of the activities of anatomical units. A detailed resolution of the conference will be submitted to the government bodies of the CIS countries for the unification of legislative and subordinate acts regulating all aspects of the functioning of anatomical institutes, emphasized Alexander Usovich. The relevance of the issue is also related to solving the problems of mutual recognition of diplomas from universities of different countries, which requires the development of unified approaches to the educational and scientific-methodological aspects of regulating the work of anatomical departments of universities, added the interlocutor.
In addition, the conference will address issues of using information technologies and methodological support for the educational process in anatomical specialties. During the forum, VSMU plans to organize exhibitions of equipment, reagents for anatomical and histological research, as well as printed and electronic publications on biomedical, pedagogical, and veterinary sciences.
The conference is organized by the Ministry of Health of Belarus, Vitebsk State Medical University, and the International Association of Morphologists. -0-
