Vitebsk healthcare institutions were replenished with 76 young specialists this year

It has become a good tradition to honor and initiate young medical professionals into the profession in the cozy, special atmosphere of the Kolas Theater. These are young specialists whose careers, after graduating from higher education institutions or secondary specialized educational institutions, began in the polyclinics and hospitals of Vitebsk and the Vitebsk region. This year, 30 doctors and 46 representatives of secondary medical staff are being honored.

All of them have already been welcomed into the large medical family of the regional center at their workplaces. On this day, they were congratulated from the stage, to the sounds of music, with the most sincere words. The first to address the young colleagues was Stanislav Titovich, chief physician of the Vitebsk City Polyclinic. He emphasized that in the medical profession, a modern equipment and comfortable conditions in healthcare facilities are less important than the attitude towards the patient as a close person. If this attitude is present, then everything in their professional biography will fall into place. Stanislav Iosifovich noted that the youth have joined teams with established traditions. They need to be supported, and their experience and knowledge should be passed on. However, the enthusiasm, even the maximalism, of the young professionals is also important for the teams to move forward and keep up with all new trends.

Heartfelt wishes to their young colleagues were addressed by Yuri Derkach, head of the healthcare department of the regional executive committee, and Anatoly Molchanov, a surgeon and head of the transfusion assistance office at the Vitebsk Emergency Hospital. Anatoly Nikandrovich, who has been working as a surgeon for 55 years, called himself a witness to the fact that a beloved profession, a calling, provides a person with the most important thing – a happy life and active longevity.

Yesterday's graduates were welcomed by their teachers – representatives of VSMU and the medical college. "We want to be proud of you," said Valentina Zayats, director of the Vitebsk State Medical College, in her address to the young medical professionals. "We are very happy to have you!" echoed other leaders, devoted to this profession, which is always in demand and so challenging.

And then came their stage appearance on a day that will be remembered for a lifetime. The largest contingent of youth, 17 people, were called to serve the health of the city's residents on the front lines – at the emergency hospital. Young specialist certificates and flowers were presented to them by Chief Physician Sergey Lazarev. The chief physician of maternity hospital No. 2, Igor Randarevich, led the young reinforcement of 10 people onto the stage. The head of polyclinic No. 4 named after Lenin, Leonid Maskin, is convinced that interesting work in the current period of rapid medical development awaits not only the eight recent graduates assigned to this institution, but everyone who chose the profession by the calling of their soul. And the newcomers to teams such as clinical hospital No. 1 and the children's dental polyclinic found themselves in the most privileged position at the celebration. This year, the heads welcomed their sole young specialists before the hall personally: Svetlana Valeryevna, Anastasia Alekseevna…

However, it's not about quantity at all, but about quality, about professional and personal qualities, about life attitudes, and about the reliable shoulder of a mentor, which a doctor, nurse, or paramedic probably needs more than anywhere else.

The current reinforcement of polyclinic No. 1 includes therapist Elena Ablavatskaya, neurologist Anastasia Podolyatskaya, endocrinologist Marina Tishurova, and therapist Natalia Gogolinskaya (pictured with Chief Physician of VGCPS Stanislav Titovich). The young doctors said that in the first months of work, they have already encountered their first difficulties and experienced pleasant professional moments. But they are not giving up, they are trying hard, delving into everything, and seeking advice from colleagues. We want to wish once again that the heroes of this initiation into the profession remain in it, and that the events of that November day in 2015 are remembered in all details many years later, when they themselves will be welcoming the new recruits.
