March 2, Vitebsk / Diana Kurilo - BELTA /. The share of local types of fuel (LTF) in the fuel balance of housing and communal services enterprises of the Vitebsk region in 2010 amounted to 48%. This was announced today at a press conference by the First Deputy Chairman of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee Vladimir Novatsky, BELTA correspondent reports. In general, in the region, the share of LTF in the fuel balance in 2010 was 14.4%, which allowed saving 1.9 million tons of conventional fuel. Wood chips, peat, and mixtures of peat and chips are used for heating and electricity generation. In 2010, 8 boiler houses running on LTF with a total capacity of 33 MW were commissioned in the region. Despite the fact that this indicator is one of the best in the republic, the first vice-governor believes that the region has sufficient reserves to increase it. Currently, the logistics of fuel harvesting and delivery are being worked out. This year, 4 boiler houses running on LTF will be commissioned. The share of LTF in the region's fuel balance is planned to be increased to 17.7%, and in 2012 - to a quarter. -0-
