The share of new products in the industrial production volume of the Vitebsk region in the first quarter was 19%

May 5, Vitebsk / Diana Kurilo - BELTA /. The share of new products in the total industrial output of the Vitebsk region for the first quarter of the current year amounted to 19%. This was announced today at a press conference by the Chairman of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee, Alexander Kosinets, in response to a question from a BELTA correspondent. The region's enterprises continue to work on the technical re-equipment of production and quality improvement. In the first quarter, 235 manufacturers received certificates of conformity for the quality management system based on international standards ISO 9001, 17 - for the environmental management system based on ISO 14000 standards, 31 - for the HACCP quality and food safety management system. As Alexander Kosinets noted, a positive trend in the development of the main sectors of the region's national economy is maintained this year. Growth has been ensured for the first quarter of 2010 compared to January-March 2009 in the main indicators of socio-economic development, with the exception of industrial production. The volume of industrial production at current prices amounted to Br4.9 trillion, with a growth rate at comparable prices of 79%. At the same time, excluding OJSC "Naftan", industrial enterprises of the region ensured a production increase of 12.9% compared to the level of January-March 2009. Consumer goods output increased by 9.7%. The export growth rate of goods in the region as a whole, excluding oil and oil products, was 144.9%, and a positive foreign trade balance of $104.8 million was achieved. The ratio of finished goods inventories to the volume of industrial production at industrial enterprises as of April 1 was 34.9% compared to 56.9% in the same period of 2009. -0-
