A criminal case has been initiated regarding the road accident on the Polotsk-Vitebsk highway
The Investigative Committee Department for the Vitebsk Region has decided to initiate a criminal case regarding the road traffic accident on the Polotsk-Vitebsk highway, as reported to a BELTA correspondent by the official representative of the Investigative Committee Department for the Vitebsk Region, Inna Gorbacheva.
The criminal case has been initiated under Part 3 of Article 317 (violation of traffic rules or vehicle operation, resulting in the death of two or more persons) of the Criminal Code.
"A group of the most experienced investigators from the central apparatus of the Investigative Committee of Belarus and the Investigative Committee Department for the Vitebsk Region are working at the scene of the incident. A thorough inspection of the scene is being conducted using the technical capabilities of a mobile forensic laboratory, the causes of the collision are being established, and other initial investigative actions are being carried out," explained Inna Gorbacheva.
According to her, all the deceased who were in the ambulance were doctors from one of the Polotsk hospitals. The specialists were heading to Vitebsk due to official necessity.
