A criminal case has been initiated against officials of OJSC "Vityaz" on the fact of the death of workers on the territory of the company's health resort in Sennensky district, investigator-criminalist of the Vitebsk region prosecutor's office Vladimir Baidanov told a BELTA correspondent. The accident occurred on May 12 on the territory of the OJSC "Vityaz" health resort. During cleaning work in the sewage collector, two workers born in 1952 and 1954, employees of the TV plant, died from poisoning by accumulated gases. Two more people, a 48-year-old worker and a 55-year-old process engineer, were hospitalized with poisoning at the Vitebsk Regional Clinical Hospital. For violation of labor protection rules, which caused the death of two workers by negligence, the prosecutor's office of Sennensky district initiated a criminal case against officials of the Vitebsk enterprise under Part 3 of Article 306 of the Criminal Code of Belarus, which provides for up to 7 years of imprisonment with possible deprivation of the right to hold certain positions.
