The decree on the development of the Orsha region has increased investor interest in the region - Igor Isachenko
Decree No. 506 "On the Development of the Orsha District of the Vitebsk Region" has spurred investor interest in the region. This was announced by the Chairman of the Orsha District Executive Committee, Igor Isachenko, at a field meeting of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee on the issue of the district's development.
According to Igor Isachenko, four investors have already approached the district executive committee with proposals for the implementation of various projects at the production site of the former reinforced concrete structures (RCS) plant. This site is currently up for auction, which will be held on March 11. Work is underway to create production facilities for non-woven materials, pellets, and furniture. The Orsha forestry enterprise is implementing a plan to organize new production with deep wood processing, including the construction of a pellet production workshop.
"The adoption of the decree on the multimodal complex "Bremо-Orsha", the first phase of which began operating on February 6, will serve as an incentive for attracting investors," added Igor Isachenko.
He noted that negotiations have already been held with representatives of a Chinese logistics company regarding the creation of a joint venture in the district.
The Chairman of the District Executive Committee also reported that according to the results of 2018, small and medium-sized businesses account for 35% of the district's total revenues, which increased by 15.5% compared to 2017. To more broadly involve the population in entrepreneurial activities, infrastructure entities supporting small businesses held meetings in January, including explanations of the norms of the acts adopted for the Orsha District.
A certain result of this work is the growth in the number of registered legal entities and individual entrepreneurs in January of the current year (their number increased 1.3 times compared to the same period in 2018). At the same time, the number of registered self-employed citizens increased 3.2 times, and artisans - 1.4 times.
