A modern-day Santa Claus will visit Orsha on December 26th

December 22, Vitebsk / Olga Bogacheva - BELTA /. In Orsha, the Christmas and New Year holidays will be kicked off with the arrival of Ded Moroz (Grandfather Frost). The distinguished guest will arrive on December 26 in a limousine, accompanied by bikers, and will bring the Tiger with him, the Orsha City Executive Committee's Culture Department told a BELTA correspondent. A spectacular show will begin near the city's Center of Culture. More than 30 pairs of local Ded Moroz characters with their Snegurochkas (Snow Maidens), costumed characters, various fairy-tale heroes, townspeople, and, of course, children will gather here. To the sounds of a brass band, they will proceed to the Jesuit Collegium Square, where the main city Christmas tree is installed. This is where the main event will unfold. The Ded Moroz characters will line up and solemnly welcome their "boss" - the main Ded Moroz, who will dashingly arrive in a snow-white limousine accompanied by dapper bikers. Under his leadership, the residents of Orsha will heartily sing the all-time New Year's hit "A Fir Tree Was Born in the Forest," and only after that will the ceremony of lighting the beautifully decorated forest beauty take place. Having fulfilled his main purpose, Ded Moroz will present a surprise to all attendees - he will release the Tiger, who will be waiting for his appearance in the limousine. The cheerful representative of the cat family, symbolizing 2010, will continue the entertainment program. The residents of Orsha can expect numerous contests with prizes, jokes, songs, and a disco. The event is organized by the Culture, Youth Affairs, and Education Departments of the Orsha City Executive Committee, and the city organization of the Belarusian Republican Youth Union (BRSM). Due to the scale of the show, the weather may introduce its own adjustments to its conduct, specialists emphasized. -0-
