Medical workers of Vitebsk and the region will receive a unique library with 300,000 volumes, Chairman of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee Alexander Kosinets told reporters today, according to a BELTA correspondent. The head of the regional executive committee participated in the work of the headquarters for the construction of the morphological building of Vitebsk State University. The construction of the library is included in the State Investment Program. Br10 billion will be allocated for the project. Despite the fact that the library will be at the medical university, it will be available not only to students but also to practicing doctors. The reading room is designed for 200 seats. In addition to regular books and textbooks, it will also house electronic publications. It is planned that the library will be commissioned in the first half of 2011. Another project included in the State Investment Program is the university's morphological building. The new laboratory and theoretical building with an area of 50,000 sq.m will be commissioned by mid-2010. The six-story building will house the departments of anatomy, forensic medicine, microbiology, as well as classrooms and laboratories, which were previously located in adapted premises. -0-
