Уникальный по функциональности ФОК открылся в Ушачах
In Ushachi, a sports and recreation complex was solemnly opened with a large gathering of residents, the participation of honored guests and district leadership.

The design of the sports and recreation complex was developed by the Novopolotsk branch of the regional state enterprise "Institute "Vitebskgrazhdanproekt", and the general contractor for construction was KUPPSP "Polotskselstroy". The complex was built with funds from the republican, regional, and district budgets (14 million rubles) in a densely populated area of the urban-type settlement of Ushachi.

Welcoming the attendees, the Chairman of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus, Vladimir Andreichenko, noted that the development of mass physical culture and sports is one of the priorities of state policy in our country. The construction of sports facilities in small and medium-sized towns is evidence of this.

The "Yunost-Ushachi" sports and recreation complex is a gift from the state. It became possible thanks to the attention and support from the President, the government, the parliament, the regional executive committee, and local authorities. The commissioning of such a facility is a significant event for the entire Vitebsk region. It is unique in its functional purpose and equipment. International level competitions can be held here.

Additional jobs have been created for the district center. The water supply problem has also been solved, as the systems of the urban-type settlement and the complex are interconnected.

The capacities of the physical culture and health complex (PCHC) should be utilized to their full potential – for the training of students of the Ushaсhi Children and Youth Sports School, sports training camps and competitions, public health improvement, including for residents of nearby districts and cities.

Vladimir Pavlovich expressed special gratitude to the builders. Letters of appreciation were presented to Viktor Petrusya, General Director of RUP "Glavgosstroyexpertiza", and Sergey Kozhukh, Director of Glubokoe PMK-48.

The construction of the PCHC in Ushaсhi began in June 2012. The facility was included in the plan for the implementation of the State Program "Belarus is Hospitable" and the Regional Program for Innovative and Investment Development of the Vitebsk Region for 2016-2020 for the Ushaсhi district.

This is a two-story building housing a swimming pool with 4 lanes, 25 m in length and 120 to 150 cm in depth, which meets the requirements of the International Swimming Federation. All conditions have been created for competitions, children's training, aqua aerobics, and swimming for people with disabilities. A universal sports hall with an area of 800 sq. m, with stands for 228 spectators and a climbing wall 11 m high.

The facility includes: a gym, rooms for shaping and rhythmic gymnastics, a wrestling room equipped according to the requirements of the International Judo Federation, a tennis court, and a conference hall. There is also a sauna, a children's room, a cafe with 30 seats, and a dormitory for athletes with accommodation for 18 people.

Even the capital could envy such a physical culture and health complex, stated Nikolai Sherstnev, Chairman of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee, during the opening ceremony.

It is gratifying that the new facility in Ushachi will serve to promote a healthy lifestyle, and to foster qualities in young people that will undoubtedly be useful in life, such as willpower, patience, courage, and the ability to achieve set goals. Top-class athletes, new champions who will bring glory to our Vitebsk region and Belarus with their achievements, should grow here.

The head of the region presented a certificate for the purchase of sports equipment to the director of the local Children and Youth Sports School, Svetlana Fedosenko.

 – I am confident that from this long-awaited moment, the sports and recreation complex will become a favorite leisure spot for the residents of Ushachi, – said Vladimir Avdoshenko, Chairman of the Ushachi District Executive Committee, on behalf of his fellow countrymen.
