According to preliminary estimates, taxpayers in the Vitebsk region using the simplified taxation system in 2010 will be able to retain approximately Br24.5 billion in their accounts. This was reported to a BELTA correspondent by the press center of the Ministry of Taxes and Duties Inspectorate for the Vitebsk region. In total, in 2010, almost 9.5 thousand business entities in the region are using the simplified system of tax reporting. Compared to the beginning of 2009, their number has increased almost threefold. The application of the simplified taxation system allows not only for simplified accounting and tax record-keeping but also for the reduction of tax liabilities. According to tax authority specialists, in 2009, one organization paying taxes under the general tax regime had an average of about Br86 million in tax payments, while an organization using the simplified system paid just over Br21 million. In 2009, taxpayers in the Vitebsk region who used the simplified taxation system contributed Br98.3 billion to the budget, which is 22% more than the amount of payments from this category in 2008. Of the total amount of revenue, enterprises and organizations account for about 85%. -0-
