Dance lessons will mark the 150th anniversary of their famous countryman Ignat Buyanitsky in Prozorki
August 17, Vitebsk / Diana Kurilo - BELTA/. Dance lessons will mark the 150th anniversary of their famous countryman Ignat Buyanitsky in Prozorki (Glubokoye district). A celebration in honor of the founder of the Belarusian professional theater will be held on August 20 in his native village, the deputy chairman of the Glubokoye district executive committee Galina Unukovich told a BELTA correspondent.
The organizers of the celebration tried to recreate the atmosphere of the "Belarusian party," which Ignat Buyanitsky held in his native village and from which the Belarusian theater later grew. Guests are expected in the cheerful tavern "U Ignata," where they promise to treat them to national dishes. Participants of the celebration will be introduced to the life and creative activities of Ignat Buyanitsky in the museum of the local school. A unique exhibition dedicated to the Buyanitsky family, the folk theater "The First Belarusian Troupe," and the First Society of Belarusian Drama and Comedy, founded by Ignat Buyanitsky, is gathered here.
Theater and folklore groups from Glubokoye will take part in the celebration. As Galina Unukovich noted, it is no coincidence that vocal and dance ensembles were invited to the anniversary. Along with dramatic plays, which occupied a central place in the theater's repertoire, Ignat Buyanitsky paid much attention to dances and folk songs. In his homeland, in Prozorki, Polivachi, and surrounding villages, Buyanitsky is known and remembered primarily as a remarkable self-taught dancer, organizer, and director of folk dances. That is why master classes in choreography await the guests of the celebration. Only in Prozorki, on Ignat Buyanitsky's birthday, will it be possible to learn to dance "Myatselitsa," "Yurka," and "Antoshka," the interlocutor is sure.
Ignat Buyntsky was born in the Polivachi estate of the Gluboksky district on August 10 (August 22, new style), 1861. In 1907, based on an amateur club, he organized a theater in an estate near the village of Prozoroki, which was named "The First Belarusian Troupe or the Theater of Ignat Buyntsky". The theater traveled not only to towns and villages of Belarus but also toured in Vilno, Minsk, Petersburg, and Warsaw. In 1917, Ignat Buyntsky became one of the initiators of the creation of the First Belarusian Drama and Comedy Society in Minsk. -0-
