Landscape design and entrepreneurship courses are offered to residents of the Vitebsk region

A joint initiative "Education and Revival of Historical and Economic Heritage for Sustainable Development of Mazolovo and Babinichi Rural Councils" is being implemented in the territory of these administrative units of Vitebsk District within the framework of the international technical assistance project "Expanding Economic Opportunities in Rural Belarus" with the financial support of the European Union and the Eurasia Foundation (using funds from the United States Agency for International Development (USAID)).

As reported by the head of the joint initiative, Anna Lipova, the program includes the creation of an Additional Education Center based on cultural and educational institutions in these settlements, where courses on landscape design, gardening, computer literacy, and entrepreneurship will be organized. Experienced teachers will teach villagers modern technologies for implementing the most profitable business projects for their locality.

In addition to educational programs, it is planned to develop an original artistic design for the agro-town of Mazolovo to emphasize its historical uniqueness. An important stage of the initiative is the revitalization of dendropark zones. It involves the improvement of dendroparks in Luzhesno and Padberyozie. For these purposes, it is planned to purchase a walk-behind tractor and other necessary equipment. Along with the parks, the springs in the villages of Mazolovo, Luzhesno, and Podberyozie will also receive a second birth. The budget includes funds for the purchase of signposts and log cabins. Tourist maps highlighting the natural and cultural features of the region will also be developed.
